Welcome James & Courtenay from the U of W Faculty of Nursing to Ford City

Students have been an integral part of the work being done in Ford City since 2010. Student placements from several faculties have been key in the progress of the renewal work in Ford City and this year we have been fortunate to have James Allen and Courtenay Nardone from the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Windsor.  They have allowed us to post their profiles so you can get to know them!If you see them please say hello! They will be with us until April.

James Allen is from Leamington, ON and is currently living in Windsor for school.  James is working on a Bachelors of Science in Nursing at the University of Windsor. James says he chose nursing because he has always enjoyed serving others and had an interest in medicine and nursing seemed to be a good mix of the two.

We asked James what his favourite thing is about Ford City: “My favourite thing about Ford City is the community atmosphere where people take the time to get to know each other.”

We asked James what one thing he hopes to accomplish in his time here in Ford City: “I would love to see a change in people’s health for the better and an increase in knowledge of available health resources.”

James is hoping to find a job after graduation at a clinic or family health team.

FullSizeRender Courtenay Nardone is from Windsor, ON. She has her Bachelor of Human Kinetics and is a fourth year nursing student at the University of Windsor. Courtenay says she chose nursing because she finds the medical profession very interesting and she wants to help others.

We asked Courtenay what her favourite thing is about Ford City: “I like all the amenities Ford City has to offer”.

We asked Courtenay what one thing she hopes to accomplish in her time here in Ford City: “I hope to increase health awareness in Ford City.”

Courtenay hopes to find a job in the Emergency Department or Cardiac Care Unit in Windsor or a hospital in Detroit.
